Monday 29th
Today we will discuss and practice cutting cards. This will be necessary for the files that must be created each month. We will also discuss the length of the file for each form of debate.
PFD- 2 pro cases and 2 con cases with back up info each month.
- Find/ cut cards against arguments that will be assumed to be common.
- Partners can split the work
LD- A case for each side of the debate with back up for the upcoming month
- Cut cards against arguments that will be assumed to be common
CX- A new major argument should be cut each month
- Some assignments can be split up with partners
- Debaters should discuss with me about their assignment before the begin work
All cases must be approved before the tournament. Corrections must be made if necessary.
Wednesday 31st
Today we will work on flowing for each form of debate. Flowing is required in class and is necessary for rounds to be successful. Different forms of debate require flowing practices.
Friday September 2nd
Today we will talk about procedures for the class, schedule and responsibilities. Also will discuss fallacies, argumentation, and clash. After today students will begin independent work, unless a situation arises where concepts need to be taught/re taught.
Students can always request for a lesson to be taught to the whole class, or I will work independently or in groups with students.
